Presentation Topic:
The future of traffic mobility - challenges and trends - and the role of network camera technology in this game
Speaker:
Linda Magnertoft
Synopsis:
Traffic is increasing multifold due to an expansion in urban populations, adding to the complexity of modern mobility. This issue goes beyond infrastructure and congestion; also it induces environmental challenges, such as rising emissions and deteriorating air quality. Addressing the challenges of urban mobility is often the catalyst for adopting smart city technologies. Implementing smart traffic solutions is not only a response to growing mobility demands but also a direct pathway to creating more liveable, sustainable cities. As cities prepare for autonomous mobility, smart infrastructure will be critical to ensuring smooth traffic flow, reducing environmental impact, and managing ongoing infrastructure maintenance effectively. At the core of this transformation will be traffic video surveillance coupled with advanced analytics, enabling authorities to better monitor, optimize, and predict traffic flows in real time.
Presentation Topic:
Advanced traffic management with radar-video fusion technologies and edge-based video analytics
Speaker:
Niklas Lindman
Synopsis:
As the demand for diverse data types and points increases, no single sensor can adequately capture all aspects of the monitored environment. By fusing data from different sensors that describe various aspects of the scene, a more accurate and enriched representation is created.
Niklas Lindman will present the journey of developing such a Radar-Video Fusion product and the technology behind it.
Presentation Topic:
Development of intelligent transport in Hong Kong
Speaker:
Dr. CH Cheng
Synopsis:
This talk will provide a prospective evolution of smart transport in Hong Kong. We will begin with a discussion on an advanced traffic signal control system designed to enhance traffic mobility. A unique feature of our system is the integration of thermal technology in AI detection, which has demonstrated its value in improving road safety and streamlining traffic movement. We will also highlight the development of a pedestrian-centric smart intersection and the coordination of eight signal-controlled junctions through a comprehensive control plan, and illustrate our system’s capabilities. We will then conclude by highlighting several fascinating prospects shaping the future of intelligent traffic in Hong Kong, including autonomous vehicles, drone transportation, and electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL).
Presentation Topic:
Upgrade urban mobility: Edge AI solutions for smart traffic management
Speaker:
Norman Lam
Synopsis:
This presentation will introduce the transformative potential of edge AI in enhancing urban traffic management. He will discuss how Edge AI Computer Vision can optimise traffic flow, reduce congestion, and improve safety in smart cities. Armitage's Edge AI solutions can empower city planners and transportation authorities to make informed decisions by leveraging real-time data processing and advanced analytics.
Presentation Topic:
Vaxtor's smart city solution
Speaker:
Christine Guo
